Ух, місяць тому виповнилось 10 років одному широко відомому у вузьких колах музичному твору:
Well… 10 years later, here we are. Sorry I’m a little late! I was planning on leaving a comment the day of but I’m horrible with tradition.
Anyways, wow. I mean, 10 years. So much has happened in my life since I last clicked the upload button on this video. I went through all of high school, graduated. Went to college, didn’t… graduate. Met all sorts of people, lost some as well. Made memories. And much much more. However, one thing that hasn’t changed is this silly little video I made when I was 15.
At the time, I truly didn’t think Everybody’s Circulation’s lyric video would blow up to the degree that it did. I simply watched a counterstrike frag movie with the song, noticed it didn’t have anything more to it then a SoundCloud link, and thought, “Hm.. how has nobody made a music video for this yet?”. And so, with my very beginner abilities with Sony Vegas, I made this uh… “masterpiece”.
Maybe one day I’ll talk about how much this stupid song has affected my life, but I think for now, I’ll simply say I’m happy it was made. The internet, YouTube specifically, has been for better or worse a massive part of my early life. It brings me so much joy knowing that I got to be a part of its history for just a little bit. What’s crazy is that I didn’t really even do anything. All I did was download some music videos and slapped on some lyrics. TMABird is the true goat here.
Time stops for no one, they say. 10 years later and we’re all still here. We’re all just a little bit older now. One thing I noticed a few years back was noticing how the comments began to change. What initially was a wave of compliments and topical memes… turned into nostalgia. Every so often I’ll read through a couple of the comments and it never fails to brighten up my day when I see people talk about how positively this video impacted them. In fact, some of you guys are hilarious. There’s been more than one occasion where I’ll read a comment, think it’s funny, share it with my group and it suddenly turns into an inside joke.
Another type of comment I’ve seen over the years is, “Where did he go? Is he dead?”. To quickly address this since it’s pretty easy to find the answer, no, I’m not dead lol. It’s just that I’ve struggled to justify saying anything. I don’t like wasting people’s time, so if I have nothing to offer, I won’t say much.
